Lily Eskelsen at the MEA Representative Assembly


     NEA Vice President Lily Eskelsen delivered the keynote address to the 82nd MEA Representative Assembly that convened in Portland on May 15 and 16. Eskelsen thanked educators for their outstanding work with students and encouraged members to stand together and fight for their programs and student learning opportunities.Eskelsen specifically encouraged members to contact Maine's U.S. Senators Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins in support of the "Keep Our Educators Working Act of 2010" (S. 3206) sponsored by Senator Tom Harkin that would provide $23 billion in federal aid to preserve educator jobs.
